From a child Trent Evans was raised around the outdoors and Mississippi wildlife. Growing up on a small farm in Vaiden, MS, which he refers to as “pure paradise”, he and his seven older brothers lived a life consumed with hunting and fishing. It all began at the age of eight, Evans remembers his brothers taking off for an afternoon dog hunt and being left behind. Having never killed a buck, he waited on the perimeter of the land waiting to hear a shot. Standing around holding a single shot 22, dogs ran a buck right across the road he was standing in. Evans says he was so frozen with excitement he let the buck pass right by, then grinned and shot in the air! At the age of ten he finally got his first kill with his uncle’s 7.762 rifle (longer than he was tall), killing two deer that afternoon. Evans says “from then on, the hunt was on!” Evans talks of growing up on the farm saying “as soon as the school bus dropped us off, it was big buck down!”
Evans’ love for hunting only grew over the years carrying him all across the United States and Canada to experience his passion. Three of his children and two grandchildren share his love for the sport. His daughter Johnlyn laughs of her childhood saying “I can remember being around 5 and there was a creature stuffed in every inch of our house!”
After hearing story after story of big kills never having the rack to match the experience with, Evans’ frustration lead to an idea. He decided to create a website with easy access searching big bucks. Monster Buck Profiles enables hunters to search trophy bucks throughout the United States and Canada on a county-by-county basis.
This website was founded in memory of his late brother Curt Evans & late cousin Doug McElroy.
